Evening Dog Sled Rides — A Magical Winter Adventure
Step into a world of magic and wonder, as the sun sets over snow-covered trails and the crisp Vermont air whispers between the pines. With our Evening Dog Sled Rides, you’re not just signing up for a winter activity — you’re embarking on a memory.
- Where & When: Set at the scenic Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, our tours run on winter Saturdays, with the evening window typically between about 4:40 PM and 8:00 PM.
- What to Expect: For about 30 minutes, you’ll get a quick but unforgettable dose of winter magic: learn about the history and heart of dogsledding, meet and bond with our gentle, energetic huskies, then ride as they pull your sled or cart through soft snow beneath a starlit sky.
- The Ride: Each sled carries up to 3 people (combined weight limit 350 lbs), and the ride itself lasts roughly 15 minutes — perfect for families, couples, or friends looking for a taste of sledding without committing a full day.
Why Evening Dog Sledding Is Special
- An intimate, family-friendly vibe: You don’t need prior experience — kids as young as two can ride, so it’s an adventure the whole family can enjoy.
- Enchanting ambiance: There’s something magical about gliding through snow under fading daylight — the hush of the forest, the huskies’ breathing and paws on snow, and the crisp air on your face. Many guests describe the ride as cozy and even “warm in the sled” despite the chill outside.
- A gentle introduction to dogsledding: For first-timers or those curious about husky life, this is a low-barrier, high-reward experience. You get to meet the dogs, learn about sled history and care, and feel the thrill of motion — all in under an hour.
